A newborn baby was found abandoned outside an apartment building in Nairobi. A good samaritan picked her up and brought her to the police station nearby. Jasmine was named there. Rescued at approximately 2 months old, this baby was abandoned in a slum area just before midnight on Nov 21. Some people nearby found her, clothed her, and took her to a clinic where she was treated for the flu and tested negative for HIV. Marggy (HOH Team) ran to come get her after getting the call and wrapped her up in a thick blanket to keep her warm. She is currently undergoing medical assessment.

Tiffany was abandoned at a daycare centre and brought to the Dream Centre weighing 19 lbs. She cannot sit unsupported, crawl, or speak but understands spoken words because she has cerebral palsy and rickets. She is now on medication for rickets and will undergo occupational therapy to support her development. Sponsorship is needed to ensure her continued care and treatment.

She’s starting to crawl and enjoys cuddling with her dolls when sleeping.

Mark's a sweet boy with a bright smile and a bright future despite being rescued from child trafficking. He loves to play with blocks and organizes toys by color. Mark is quick to make friends and is learning lots of new things, like brushing his teeth on his own. He’s peaceful and avoids conflicts, preferring to play and chat. His favorite meal is rice with beef stew, which he enjoys slowly.

Derek, estimated to be 3 years old was found on August 13, 2024, after being lost for four days. Despite ongoing efforts, the police have not yet been able to locate his relatives. Adili does not know his name and is currently under temporary care at our facility. Our team tried different names with him and together they chose Derek. Adili means “a person of Integrity.”

Iris lives in a HOH Family Unit with Pastors Levi and Dorothy in Bungoma, Kenya. She is growing into a strong, independent girl who loves school and is always cheerful. She starts her day by cleaning, showing her responsibility. She adores small pets like cats and rabbits and dreams of becoming a nurse to help sick children. Iris enjoys reading storybooks, drawing, and coloring animal pictures. She brings joy to church with her singing and dancing. Iris is loved by everyone who knows her and meets her.

Daniel's health suffers as a consequence of their circumstances.

Joyce’s mother was a prostitute and became pregnant. Her father is unknown. Her mother left her with her grandmother and Joyce’s grandmother felt obligated to take her in. She cares for Joyce despite her old age. She struggles to provide for Joyce and is unable to work due to her age. Joyce does attend church with her grandmother. Joyce suffers from malnourishment and has internal worms.
