18 Ladies’ Lives are About to Change Forever

After a month of Friday microloan training sessions, something incredible is happening in Nyarutarama, Rwanda—20 minutes north of the capital city of Kigali.

These women have shown up week after week, hungry to learn, desperate for change, and full of courage. And now, they’re ready.

Ready to receive microloans.
Ready to step into something new.
Ready to build a future they once only hoped for.

Our Home of Hope leader, Aimé, will be walking alongside each of these women as they take this next step.

What I love most is that they’ve chosen not to do this alone. Instead, they’ve formed two cooperatives—choosing community, accountability, and shared strength.

There are 9 women in each co-op and I love that they have named themselves Dufatanye (meaning: let’s work together) and Twisungane (meaning: let’s support each other).

Over the next six months, these women will work hard, grow their businesses, and repay their loans. But the goal is so much bigger than repayment.

The goal is that every single one of these women becomes successful.
That they rise up as leaders in their homes.
That they carry dignity and hope into their families and communities.

And the ripple effect? It’s everything.

Because when a mother succeeds, her children’s story changes too.

This is the part that always gets me:
Their children will never need sponsorship.

This is what sustainable impact looks like. Not just meeting a need for today, but changing the trajectory of a family for generations.
