Clarisse’s Life Changed from a Facebook Post

This story is about Clarisse, but it's also about Emmanuel.

Emmanuel knows what it means to be rescued. Years ago, as an orphan, he was helped by Home of Hope, and that act of kindness changed his future. Today, Emmanuel is determined to do the same for others.

In his home country of Rwanda, Emmanuel sees children living in desperate conditions—hungry, malnourished, and without basic necessities.

One of those children was Clarisse. Her mother abandoned her, leaving her in the care of an elderly woman who had no resources to provide food, clothing, or school supplies.

Emmanuel shared Clarisse’s story online, believing that generous people would respond.

And they did! Two couples stepped up to sponsor her needs. Because of their kindness, Clarisse received:

  • Three new outfits
  • Shoes
  • A goat (providing sustainable income and nutrition)
  • Food supplies
  • Other essentials to restore dignity and hope

This transformation is a powerful reminder: when we see a need and respond, lives change. Emmanuel’s story and Clarisse’s rescue show that hope multiplies when we work together.
