Anita: From Sponsored Child to Future Doctor

Anita: From Sponsored Child to Future Doctor

In 2007, Anita Isingizwe joined the Home of Hope sponsorship program in Rwanda. After losing her father at a young age, she was raised by her mother and faced many challenges. But thanks to the faithful support of her sponsor, Anita was able to attend school, excel in her studies, and pursue her dream of becoming a doctor.

Today, Anita is a medical student—a future doctor—who is already making a powerful impact through monthly outreach in Congo.

Medical Outreach in Congo

Anita is currently studying medicine in DR Congo and actively participates in Home of Hope’s medical outreach missions, helping vulnerable communities access health education and care.

Her sponsors are not only supporting her education—they are indirectly helping hundreds, even thousands of people who Anita is now able to serve. The hope that was extended to her is now being multiplied through her medical work.

Why Anita’s Story Matters

Anita’s journey is a powerful example of how sponsorship can change a life. Would Anita be where she is today without the generosity of some people in Canada? It’s doubtful. She had so much potential—she just needed the means and people who believed in her.

Through education, mentorship, and opportunity, Anita is now giving back in ways that ripple through entire communities.

Let’s continue to empower more children like Anita to become leaders, healers, and hope-bringers.
